Aquaforest Phosphate Minus is a medium for fluidised filters that reduces phosphate and silicate levels in marine aquariums.
It is intended for marine aquariums, both new and mature. According to the manufacturer, in a new aquarium it keeps phosphate from rising, and in a mature one it lowers PO4 and stabilises the water chemistry.
According to the manufacturer, too much food and too many supplements are a common cause of high phosphate. Because of its chemical activity, using the medium may slightly affect KH.
The manufacturer recommends 25–100 ml of medium per 100 l of water. Place it in a media reactor with a flow of at least 400 l/h, or use it passively in a filter sock. Replace it every 4 weeks or when phosphate rises noticeably. Do not rinse it before use; the water may colour slightly at first.
Available in 250 ml, 1000 ml and 5000 ml packs.
