Aquaforest Purifying Resin Nitrate Removal Resin

Aquaforest Purifying Resin is an ion exchange resin intended for binding nitrogen compounds dissolved in the water and removing nitrates.

It is designed for freshwater aquariums, mainly heavily stocked tanks with elevated nitrate levels.

According to the manufacturer, the resin works selectively and does not affect the level of minerals that aquarium life needs. It clarifies the water, supports the fight against algae and allows less frequent water changes. 125 ml of resin treats 400 l of water.

Place the resin in a fine-mesh filter bag and put the bag in a filter basket with a constant water flow. A dark brown colour shows the resin is worn and should be replaced or regenerated. The manufacturer recommends keeping the resin in a 50% chlorine bleach solution for about 6 hours, then rinsing it thoroughly and leaving it in clean water for about 24 hours.
