Full description
AquaEL BioCeraMAX is a biological filter medium for freshwater and marine aquariums, paludariums and aquaterrariums. Nitrifying bacteria in its pores turn ammonia and nitrite, which are toxic to fish, into much safer nitrate.
There are three types – BioCeraMAX 600 (porous ceramic rolls, 600 m² of filter surface), 1200 (fine-grained sintered glass rolls, 1200 m²) and 1600 (sintered glass balls, 1600 m²). The medium suits external and overflow filters, internal filters with a chamber for loose media (e.g. Turbo Filter) and sumps.
The medium is ready to use and needs no rinsing. Place it after the mechanical and before the chemical filtration. According to the manufacturer, one litre is enough for an aquarium of about 250 l. When cleaning the filter, rinse the medium in water taken from the tank, not under the tap, and replace about a third of it every 6–12 months.
The pack contains 1 l of filter medium.
