NEO Soil Plant No CO2 Planted Aquarium Substrate 3 l

NEO Soil No CO2 is a substrate for planted aquariums without CO2 injection. This pack holds 3 l of substrate.

It is made for planted aquariums without added CO2. In the manufacturer's example, a 40-litre aquarium needs 8 l of substrate.

The substrate is packed with nutrients for bacteria that produce CO2, which dissolves into the water. You can see CO2 bubbles rising from the substrate. According to the manufacturer, ammonia goes down after about 15 days if you follow the water change schedule. After one month, the manufacturer recommends using it together with Neo Fluid.

Do not rinse the substrate, use it as it comes. Spread a thin layer on the bottom, add root tabs or fertiliser if needed and pour the rest of the substrate on top so that the front is lower and the back higher. Fill the water slowly so the layers do not mix. At first there is some sludge, smell, cloudiness and bubbles, which is temporary – do water changes on the manual's schedule, and shrimp and otocinclus help clear the sludge.
