YOKUCHI Jiban Soil Aquarium Substrate

YOKUCHI Jiban Soil is a complete substrate for freshwater aquariums.

It is made for high-tech planted tanks with strong lighting and CO2, and also suits tropical fish from slightly acidic waters.

It is made from natural raw materials, and the even, porous structure produced by forming and sintering suits microorganisms and plant roots. It releases nutrients and biostimulants into the aquarium over a long period. Its high ion-exchange capacity stabilises water parameters, lowers general and carbonate hardness and keeps the pH at about 6.5. It comes in 1 l, 4 l and 10 l bags.

Do not rinse the substrate or mix it with substrates from other manufacturers. Cover the bottom of a new tank with a layer of at least 6 cm, wet it thoroughly, leave it for 30–45 minutes and plant with tweezers. For the first 4 weeks, change 25–50% of the water twice a week. RO water with Ishiko Plant Mineral is recommended; with tap water (up to 20 °dH) the ion-exchange capacity is lost faster.
