Tropica Substrate

Tropica Substrate is a nutrient concentrate laid under the gravel when a new aquarium is set up.

It is made for setting up a new planted aquarium, and according to the manufacturer a thin layer under the gravel ensures healthy, long-term plant growth.

The substrate is neutral. It does not affect the KH or pH of the water. It absorbs nutrients and makes them available to plant roots.

Lay it in a 1 cm layer on the bottom when you build the aquarium and cover it with gravel. The Tropica page has a table of recommended amounts for standard aquarium sizes.

Available in 1 l, 2.5 l and 5 l packs.
