The AquaEL ASAP is an internal filter of simple design whose sponge cartridge is easy to replace and clean. As it works in water from 5 cm deep, it also suits an aquaterrarium.
The filter has an energy-efficient motor and a large transparent bowl with a filter sponge. Beneficial bacteria settle on the sponge, so the water gets both mechanical and biological cleaning, and the strong surface movement oxygenates it. There are three models – ASAP 300 (up to 100 l, 4.2 W, 300 l/h), ASAP 500 (50–150 l, 5 W, 500 l/h) and ASAP 700 (150–250 l, 6.8 W, 650 l/h in the manufacturer's table).
There are two ways to maintain it – rinse the sponge in water taken from the tank without removing the filter, or replace the whole bowl with a new cartridge. Standard cartridges and cartridges with activated carbon or a phosphate absorber are available separately.
