YOKUCHI Ganban Power Base Aquarium Base Layer

YOKUCHI Ganban Power Base is a mix of natural materials of volcanic and organic origin, used in the aquarium as an underlayer beneath the main substrate.

It is made to go under Jiban Soil in the aquarium, and in terrariums and paludariums it can be used as a drainage layer.

The mix is highly porous, which helps the microorganisms that clean the water of metabolic waste to multiply. In the first phase the underlayer absorbs harmful substances and so makes starting a new aquarium easier. Ganban improves nutrient transport in the deeper substrate layers, as its organic matter mineralises and humifies. It comes in 2 l and 6 l bags.

The underlayer is ready to use and must not be rinsed or mixed with substrates or underlayers from other manufacturers. Spread the contents of the bag directly on the aquarium bottom and keep it 2–3 cm away from the front and side glass. Then cover it with a layer of Jiban Soil.
