Substrate for planted freshwater aquariums. Its light, porous grains do not compact: roots spread through it easily and nitrifying bacteria colonise the large surface. It supports a neutral to slightly acidic pH, does not colour the water and helps control the tint that natural driftwood gives.
Do not add it to an aquarium with fish or shrimp in it: fill the tank, let the pH settle overnight, then add the animals and watch the pH for the first few days.
