Hottonia palustris is a stem plant from Asia and Europe whose many curved shoots with fanned, bright light green leaves quickly form a dense group. Each stem is 4–6 cm wide and 10–30 cm high. An unassuming, easy beginner plant; its wide growth suits the transition between very low and tall plants, and its bright green sets off nearby red plants. On Tropica's difficulty scale it is an easy plant (Easy).

According to Tropica, after two months in the aquarium the plant is on average 10–20 cm tall or more. The plant has a medium growth rate. Light demand is low. CO2 demand is low. The plant comes from Europe and Asia.
Frequent cutting of the long shoots keeps growth coming from the base and maintains the dense, bushy form.
Available in a pot and in a 1-2 Grow cup.
