Anubias barteri var. nana is a small rhizome plant with dark green leaves from Cameroon. It is an easy plant – according to the manufacturer, it thrives in all conditions, even in shady spots where other plants struggle.
The plant grows slowly and its leaves last for years. Its height in the aquarium is about 5–15 cm. It often flowers under water, and herbivorous fish do not eat it.
The plant prefers to grow attached to a stone or a root – hold it in place with fishing line until the roots have taken hold. If you plant it in the substrate, leave the rhizome uncovered, as a buried rhizome can rot.
Available in a pot, a pot in a blister pack, on coconut shell, on mangrove wood, on wood with a suction cup, on lava stone, with a Plant Clip and in a 1-2 Grow cup.
