Full description

Pogostemon stellatus is a stem plant from Asia and Australia with a beautiful shape and colour; the stems are 20–60 cm long and up to 10 cm wide.

According to Tropica it is difficult to grow in aquariums – it needs intensive light and added CO2. On Tropica's difficulty scale it is an advanced plant (Advanced).

According to Tropica, after two months in the aquarium the plant is on average 15–30 cm tall or more. The plant has a medium growth rate. Light demand is high. CO2 demand is high. The plant comes from Asia.

A micronutrient shortage leads to pale leaves, which may mean the aquarium needs fertiliser; even in good conditions growth sometimes stops suddenly. Shop plants are usually low, compact plants grown in marsh conditions that show their full form only in the aquarium.

The plant is sold in a pot.
