Alternanthera reineckii 'Pink'

Alternanthera reineckii 'Pink' is a stem plant whose pink leaf undersides give an effective contrast to the many green plants in an aquarium, especially when planted in groups.

The stems grow 25–50 cm tall. On Tropica's difficulty scale it is a medium plant (Medium).

According to Tropica, after two months in the aquarium the plant is on average 20–30 cm tall or more. The plant has a medium growth rate. Light demand is medium. CO2 demand is medium. The plant comes from South America.

Good light turns the leaves red. It is easy to propagate: nip off the top bud and plant it in the substrate – the mother plant also becomes bushier, as more side shoots form.

Available in a pot, with a Plant Clip and as a large XL mother plant.
