Full description

Micranthemum callitrichoides 'Cuba' is one of the smallest aquarium plants in the world, creeping over the bottom with millimetre-sized round leaves. It is found in Cuba, west of Havana.

A popular foreground plant for small aquariums; not difficult according to Tropica, but it needs good conditions – where these are hard to create, the less demanding Micranthemum 'Monte Carlo' is an alternative. On Tropica's difficulty scale it is an advanced plant (Advanced).

According to Tropica, after two months in the aquarium the plant is on average 3–5 cm tall or more. The plant has a medium growth rate. Light demand is high. CO2 demand is high. The plant comes from North America.

It needs enough light, added CO2, water circulation and fertiliser. Plant small clumps a few centimetres apart and trim the carpet regularly so the lower parts get light and do not die.

Available in a pot and in a 1-2 Grow cup.
