Micranthemum umbrosum

Micranthemum umbrosum is a plant from the USA with small round leaves; the stems grow 10–25 cm long and 1–2 cm wide.

It suits small and large aquariums and looks good in groups of many stems; it is relatively demanding in terms of light. On Tropica's difficulty scale it is a medium plant (Medium).

According to Tropica, after two months in the aquarium the plant is on average 10–15 cm tall or more. Light demand is medium. CO2 demand is medium. The plant comes from North America.

Added CO2 promotes growth. Once it starts growing it grows fast, and the shoots need pinching often – they can be planted as cuttings.

The plant is sold in a pot.
