Full description
JBL BioNitratEX is a biological filter media in the form of balls that removes excess nitrate from aquarium water.
It suits freshwater and marine aquariums where excess nitrate promotes algae growth. It is used in an internal or external filter.
The pack holds 100 balls. One pack is enough for aquariums of up to 300 l. The balls become covered with several layers of bacteria, which use the nutrients in the balls to break nitrate down into nitrogen and oxygen. The balls gradually dissolve through the action of the bacteria.
Place the balls in an internal or external filter. Replace the media once the balls have dissolved too much.
