Aquaforest Reef Mineral Salt NaCl-Free Mineral Salt

Reef Mineral Salt is an NaCl-free mineral salt for keeping mineral levels constant and maintaining ionic balance in reef aquariums. It is one of the key elements when supplementing calcium chloride and sodium bicarbonate, as in the Balling method. According to the maker, leaving it out leads to a mineral deficiency, and long-term shortages of macro and trace elements can markedly slow coral growth and make their colours pale.

Dissolve 25 g in 1000 ml of RODI water. Dose the Reef Mineral Salt solution in the same liquid amounts as the Calcium and KH Buffer solutions. To keep the ionic balance, also use Calcium, KH Buffer and Magnesium, with doses set by water tests and the daily consumption of the corals. Reef Mineral Salt can be combined in one solution with Magnesium. Dosing it does not replace regular water changes, which are still needed.
