Aquaforest Magnesium Reef Magnesium Supplement

Aquaforest Magnesium is a magnesium salt for making a solution that raises and maintains the magnesium level in reef aquariums.

It is intended for marine aquariums with corals, as according to the manufacturer magnesium is essential for their development.

According to the manufacturer, a low magnesium level can make it hard to keep calcium at the proper level and can lead to too low pH. The recommended magnesium level in reef aquariums is 1180–1460 mg/l. The product contains magnesium chloride hexahydrate.

Dissolve 10 g of the salt in 1000 ml of RODI water. According to the manufacturer, 100 ml of the solution in 100 l of water raises magnesium by 1.2 mg/l. Test the water before dosing, set the dose by the test result and the daily consumption of the corals, and do not raise the level by more than 50 ppm per day. To keep the ionic balance, the manufacturer recommends also using KH Buffer and Reef Mineral Salt.
