Aquaforest Lava Soil Black Natural Substrate 5 l

Aquaforest Lava Soil Black is a black natural substrate based on volcanic lava for planted aquariums. It is enriched with minerals that plants need and releases them into the water gradually.

The substrate suits any freshwater aquarium with aquatic plants.

According to the manufacturer, its high porosity supports the multiplication of beneficial microorganisms. Its structure makes rooting easier for plants and prevents anaerobic zones from forming. Water circulates more easily through the substrate, which helps spread nutrients evenly. Right after filling, the water may turn slightly hazy, which according to the manufacturer clears after about 12 hours.

Spread a layer of about 7 cm on the bottom, add water to about 10 cm, plant, and then fill the aquarium. Because of the high mineral content, the manufacturer recommends limiting micronutrient fertilisers during the first half year.
