Hybrid Pro Salt combines chemically pure laboratory-made salt with flakes of natural sea salt from the North Atlantic. It is enriched with probiotic bacteria which, according to the maker, help to lower nitrate and phosphate levels and support coral growth and colouration. It contains micro- and macroelements, amino acids and vitamin C, with raised levels of the most consumed elements, strontium and iodine. The salt is intended for demanding marine aquariums, especially with SPS corals.
Start with RO/DI water at about 24 °C. For a salinity of 33 ppt (SG 1.025), add about 390 g of salt to 10 l of water, stir vigorously for about 15 minutes until the water is clear and check the salinity with a refractometer. Use the mixed water within 3 days, keep it tightly closed and store the salt in a dry, dark place.
