NEO Media Pure Quad Biological Filter Media 5 l

NEO Media Pure is a biological filter medium with a neutral effect on pH. This pack holds 5 l of filter media.

Neo Media comes in three pH types – Soft, Pure and Hard. According to the manufacturer, Pure suits planted tanks, shrimp, South American fish and cichlids, as well as marine and coral aquariums.

Pure has little effect on pH – it does not raise the pH of slightly acidic water nor lower the pH of slightly alkaline water. The surface area is about 4000 m² per litre, and pores of various sizes give room to large bacterial colonies. It is made at high temperature from natural materials produced in Korea, so the pieces can vary in size, shape and colour. The actual pH effect depends on the water used and the objects in the tank.

Rinse the media 2–3 times under running water before use – too much washing can release dust. The media needs cleaning from time to time.
