JBL Sansibar River Aquarium Sand 0.8 mm

JBL Sansibar River is a substrate mix with a 0.8 mm grain for freshwater and marine aquariums and terrariums.

The rounded grains have no sharp edges and protect the sensitive barbels of bottom-dwelling fish, so it suits burrowing animals such as stingrays, spiny eels and catfish.

The grain size is 0.8 mm. According to the manufacturer the substrate releases no undesirable substances into the water and suits fish, invertebrates and plants. It can be used with substrate heating cables and heating mats. It comes in 5 kg and 10 kg packs.

Rinse the substrate briefly with tap water before use to remove dust from transport. For strong plant growth lay it about 6–8 cm deep over a nutrient substrate (JBL AquaBasis).
