JBL Sansibar Dark Black Aquarium Sand 5 kg

JBL Sansibar Dark is a fine black substrate for freshwater and marine aquariums and terrariums.

The fine granite sand is gentle on the sensitive barbels of bottom-dwelling fish, and shy animals feel more at ease on the dark substrate.

The grain size is 0.2–0.6 mm and the pack holds 5 kg of substrate. The fine, compact layer gives plant roots a good hold and keeps mulm and other debris from working into the substrate. According to the manufacturer it releases no undesirable substances into the water. The dark substrate creates no light reflections, so the colours of fish and plants show well. Undergravel heating is only recommended with medium to coarse substrates.

Rinse the substrate briefly with tap water before use to remove dust from transport. To support plant growth, lay it over the JBL AquaBasis nutrient substrate.
