Terrario Negro Rainforest Coconut Chips Substrate

Terrario Negro Rainforest is a natural terrarium floor substrate of medium-sized coconut chips.

It suits tropical and many drier terrariums. The manufacturer recommends it for tree frogs such as Hyla cinerea, tropical geckos such as Correlophus ciliatus, all arachnids, chameleons and all snakes.

The chips are never compressed, so they are ready to use straight from the bag, with no soaking or breaking up a brick. The medium fraction creates a forest-floor effect. The chips go well with bark, roots, stones and plants. Bags hold no more than 5 l, because in larger packs the chips get compacted and absorb moisture less well. Available as a 5 l bag and as 10 l (2 × 5 l) and 15 l (3 × 5 l) sets.

Spread the chips in an even layer with a depth that suits the species kept. In a tropical terrarium monitor humidity with a hygrometer; in a drier one use less water and provide good ventilation.
