Aquaforest Strontium Coral Supplement 50 ml

Strontium is a concentrated strontium and barium supplement for reef aquariums. After calcium and magnesium, strontium is one of the elements hard corals need most for growth: it takes part in building the coral skeleton and, according to the maker, improves calcium uptake; soft corals use it as well. In a closed system the protein skimmer and filter media remove strontium from the water, so it has to be topped up. Barium, which is also present in natural seawater, is added in a matching proportion. Keep strontium at 5–15 ppm.

Dose 1 drop per 100 l of water daily. 1 ml (about 15 drops) raises strontium in 100 l of water by 1.09 ppm. Every tank is different, so adjust the dose to the corals you keep and test the water regularly.
