Advice and care
How to choose aquarium glue
The form depends on the surface: gel stays on vertical faces, liquid runs into small gaps.
Epiphytes
Anubias, bucephalandra and mosses are fixed to stone or wood with a drop of glue.

Use little
Excess glue turns whitish in water and shows.

Dry surface
Glue onto a dry or slightly damp surface and hold the parts for a few seconds.

In aquascaping, glue does two jobs: it attaches plants to stones and wood and joins stones or pieces of wood into a stable structure. The range includes plant glue in liquid and gel form and a separate glue for fixing an aquarium background.
Glue rock structures before filling the tank, while everything is dry, so you can see how the stones rest and where their centre of gravity lies. Support larger stones from below: the glue should only hold them in place, not carry their full weight. Joints between wood and stone can be hidden with moss or substrate.
To attach plants, drain some water or lift the stone out. Do not cover the whole root system with glue: fix the plant at one point and leave the other roots free so new ones can grow around the stone. Glue a background only onto dry, clean glass.
