How to choose a food assortment
A food assortment gives several foods from one jar and makes varied feeding easy.
For your fish
Pick the mix by your animals: general, for bettas, for small fish or for shrimp.

Variety
Feed from a different compartment each time so the fish get every food over the week.
Freshness
Use up an opened jar within a few months, as vitamins break down in air.

Can a food assortment be the only food?
Yes, if the maker intends the mix as a staple food. For variety, add some natural food now and then.
Why is the jar divided into compartments?
Each compartment holds a different food that does not mix with the others. That lets you choose what to give each time.

A fish that lives on a single food gets fewer different nutrients than one with a varied menu. A food assortment solves this simply: the jar is split into compartments, each holding a different food. That keeps varied feeding at hand without a shelf of jars.
The range includes four-part mixes for all aquarium fish, a mix for bettas, a finer mix for small fish, one for shrimp and crayfish and a mix of crisps. The compartments hold, for example, flakes, granules, sticks, crisps or dried larvae that differ in size and make-up.
Do not tip in every compartment at once: give one food per feed and switch next time. Feed only what the fish eat within a couple of minutes. Keep the jar tightly closed in a dry place so the food does not get damp.
