Frequently asked questions

Are granules better than flakes?

Granules break down more slowly and are easier to dose; flakes suit small surface feeders well. Alternating both is best.

Does colour food make fish more colourful?

Colour-enhancing food contains natural pigments that support the fish's natural colour. The result also depends on species, light and water quality.

Granules and pellets are pressed food that holds its shape in water longer than flakes and does not foul the water as quickly. They are easy to dose: once you know how many granules your fish eat in a couple of minutes, you can give exactly the same amount every day.

Besides all-round granules, the range includes special foods for cichlids, discus, guppies, bettas and herbivorous fish, plus food for shrimp and crabs. Special food reflects what a species needs: discus need protein-rich food, while herbivores need fibre and spirulina. Colour food brings out a fish's natural colours but does not give it new ones.

Hard pellets swell in water. If your fish gulp food greedily, soak the pellets briefly in aquarium water before feeding. Keep the pack closed and dry, because opened food loses vitamins over time.
