JBL LimCollect Snail Trap

JBL LimCollect is a chemical-free trap for catching unwanted snails in the aquarium.

It can also catch shrimps and crayfish. Snails can multiply quickly in the aquarium when fish are overfed, and the trap helps reduce their numbers.

The trap measures 12 × 9 cm. Two rods that can be set at different heights restrict the entrance so that fish do not swim in by accident. If a fish does get in, the water flowing through keeps it supplied with oxygen. Inward-pointing struts stop the snails from getting out.

Put food in the trap, set the rods to the height you want and place the trap in the aquarium overnight. At night most fish rest, except nocturnal species such as many plecos, so smaller fish rarely get into the trap.
