Aquaforest AF Air Scrubber CO2 Reactor for Protein Skimmers

The Aquaforest AF Air Scrubber is a CO2 reactor for protein skimmers. It connects to the skimmer's air intake and, according to the manufacturer, is intended to raise the pH of the aquarium.

The reactor is meant for reef aquariums running a protein skimmer with a 10 mm (⅜″) air hose.

The reactor holds 2.3 l, is 35.5 cm high plus 3.5 cm of connectors and 15.5 cm wide. The base contains three cut-to-size sponges that moisten the air and, according to the manufacturer, help the media perform better. According to the manufacturer's tests, the reactor can raise the pH by about 0.2–0.4 and keep it within 8.0–8.4.

Soak the base sponges in RO water and connect the hose connection on the lid to the skimmer. The CO2 absorbing cartridge is not included and has to be chosen separately.
