Advice and care
How to choose a nano aquarium
A small tank needs more careful upkeep, because everything changes faster in it.
Volume
Choose the largest nano tank that fits your space.

Livestock
Shrimp, snails and small fish such as rasboras suit it.
Plants
Slow-growing mosses and anubias will not outgrow a nano tank quickly.

A nano set is a small aquarium with the basic equipment already chosen, so you do not have to assemble it piece by piece. The sets hold 10 to 32 litres and fit on a desk, cabinet or shelf. Each product page lists exactly what is included; if a part such as a heater is missing, choose it separately.
In a small volume of water waste builds up quickly and the temperature follows the room. So do a small water change every week, avoid overfeeding and keep the tank away from windows and radiators, where sun or heat warms the water fast.
Stock a nano tank gradually and favour small species that need little swimming space: shrimp, snails and tiny shoaling fish. Good plants are slow growers such as mosses, ferns and carpeting plants that do not need frequent trimming.
